Flight Friends

Two women were at the airport. They were waiting for their flight. The first woman had a red bag. The second woman carried a blue one. They sat next to each other. Both looked a bit tired.

The woman with the red bag spoke first. ‘The subway was very crowded today,’ she said. ‘I had to stand all the way.’ The other woman nodded. ‘I know what you mean. I took the subway too. My arms hurt from holding my luggage.’

Then, the woman with the blue bag asked, ‘Did you buy a special ticket for the subway?’ ‘Yes,’ the first woman replied. ‘There’s a ticket just for the airport. It costs a little more, but it’s fast.’ They both agreed that the subway was the best choice when you have bags.

The conversation then turned to other ways of travel. ‘My friend came here on her bicycle once,’ said the blue bag woman. ‘She said it was fun but hard with luggage.’ They both laughed at that. ‘Yes, that would be hard!’ the woman with the red bag exclaimed.

They continued to chat about their trips. Soon, they heard the announcement for their flight. They picked up their bags and got ready to board. ‘It was nice to talk with you,’ they said to each other. With a smile, they walked to their gate.
